    "description": "## Problem\n\nWhen T3 Code runs as its systemd user service, it starts at boot, before the desktop session, so its environment has no `DISPLAY` or `WAYLAND_DISPLAY`. An editor it launches (VSCodium here) starts without a display and exits silently: clicking Open does nothing.\n\n## Change\n\nOn Linux, when the server has neither variable, editor launches read `DISPLAY`, `WAYLAND_DISPLAY`, and `XAUTHORITY` from the systemd user manager's `Environment` property through `busctl --user --json=short`, which returns values raw (`systemctl show-environment` would shell-quote values containing spaces as `$'\u2026'`), and pass them to the editor only. The user manager learns them when the session starts. A missing user manager, an error, or a 2-second timeout leaves the server's environment as before. Browser launches are untouched, so the startup pairing page never opens on another session's screen. Editor detection, including the file manager entry, is unchanged.\n\nmacOS (a launchd agent in the gui domain) and Windows do not use these variables, and the boot service is systemd-only on Linux.\n\n## Scope and approval\n\nNo prior issue: a small reliability fix for a silent failure in an existing feature, confined to `externalLauncher.ts`.\n\n## Verification\n\n- `vp test run src/process/externalLauncher.test.ts` in `apps/server`: 21 pass. The new test stubs `busctl` JSON output on Linux without a display and checks that the editor gets exactly the three variables, raw (including an `XAUTHORITY` path with a space), the browser launch gets none, and a failing `busctl` still launches the editor with the server's environment.\n- Observed on my machine: the running `t3code.service` process has no `DISPLAY` or `WAYLAND_DISPLAY`, while `systemctl --user show-environment` reports `DISPLAY=:0` and `WAYLAND_DISPLAY=wayland-1`.\n\nNot checked: launching a real editor from a boot-started service built from this branch.\n\nClaude Opus 5.5 via Claude Code, running in T3 Code.\n",
