# BEFORE evidence — issue 7568

Baseline: lead-supplied d53873b6a4 bundle in apps/web/dist, existing real Electron/Xvfb, CDP 19468, VITE_DEV_SERVER_URL http://127.0.0.1:7435. I did not rebuild, change source, checkout, commit, start a server or start/stop Electron. Provenance is supplied by lead, not independently hashed here.

Conditions: CSS viewport 1440 or 390 × 900; DPR 1 confirmed in capture.log; light/dark media plus root dark class/color-scheme toggled by capture driver; reduced motion; document.fonts.ready awaited. These are Electron viewport captures, not mobile support claims. Theme override is DOM-only, not a source change. Recordings have no audio; the timestamp narration below is the narration index.

## Decisive runtime / V1

`v1-1440-light.webm` (73.3 s): Add environment → SSH → type issue-7568-repro, username ubuntu, port blank; initial Add attempt did not complete. Supplemental setup recording, not successful registration proof.

`v1-1440-light-retry.webm` (37.8 s), inspected via v1-timeline.png:
- 00:00–00:05: same typed alias and explicit ubuntu, empty port (22 is a placeholder); click Add, Adding state.
- ~00:10: connected, single route subtitle SSH ubuntu@127.0.0.1:24569.
- ~00:15: switch off.
- Between off/on: fixture sshd and scratch SSH config changed 24569 → 24570; reload uses only captured sshd PID; terminal alias succeeds.
- ~00:25–00:30: switch on; remote did not answer, stale subtitle remains.
- ~00:35: expand Details; error explicitly says connection refused on port 24569.

`runtime.txt`: ssh -G selects port 24570; plain alias command prints fixture-ok; explicit -p 24569 fails. No private keys, tokens, or raw catalog published. The app's detailed error is visible in recording and failure PNGs. No process argv interception or saved-store identity inspection was performed in this phase.

## V2 interaction recordings

`v2-select-390-dark.webm` (27.033 s): starts on discovered suggestion issue-7568-discovered with blank fields. Pointer click (~00:02) triggers Adding; by ~00:05 fields visibly autofill ubuntu and 24570, then route-added result and 2-route labels. Inspected v2-video-inspection.png.

`v2-interaction-1440-light.webm` (53 s), inspected v2-timeline.png: ~00:00 Add route; ~00:10 long discovered alias suggestion; ~00:20 close picker; ~00:30 typed ubuntu and port24570; ~00:35 reopen picker and Ctrl+1; ~00:40 route added and multi-route labels. Includes a locator failure/recovery delay before typing. The long alias is issue-7568-long-discovered-fixture-1440-light.

`v2-interaction-1440-dark.webm` and `v2-interaction-390-light.webm`: interactions.sh records Add route, unique long alias, close popup, type ubuntu/24570, reopen popup, Ctrl+1, Route added, dismiss toast, resulting route list. Final completion and duration are recorded in interactions-retry.log and inventory.txt. Do not count an incomplete video as a passed cell.

`v2-1440-dark.webm`: supplemental exploratory recording, mixed viewport/theme during four-cell static capture; filename does not mean the whole video is 1440 dark. Not a matrix-cell pass.

## Static frame matrix / settlement

v2-discovery pairs cover all four requested cells. 1440-light and 1440-dark pairs are pixel-identical. 390 pairs differ only in caret pixels (bbox 73,660,74,680); they fail strict settlement. Images visually inspected: 1440 light, 390 dark; other cells checked by dimensions/pixel comparison only.

v1-failure pairs: 1440 light/dark and 390 light show failure details; countdown changes make pairs non-identical. The original alleged 390 dark was actually1440×900 due to interleaved viewport reset; renamed invalid-mislabeled and excluded. Failure details are below fold at390 width. These are supplemental static frames, not per-cell interaction coverage.

## Gaps / acceptance

V1 interaction matrix: only 1440 light recorded end to end. 1440 dark,390 light,390 dark interactions missing. V2 blank override pointer selection only390 dark; explicit-field keyboard selection in other cells. Thus every V2 cell does not independently contain both blank and explicit cases. No discovered alias changed-port reconnect, two successive port changes, persisted target/connectionId inspection, or After evidence. No full-matrix completion claim.

## Fixture changes / handoff

Only fixture client UI, scratch ~/.ssh/config, fixture sshd config, known_hosts and /tmp evidence changed. Original client route removed via UI then recreated typed. Added discovered aliases/routes via actual UI; no synthetic catalog/store seeding. Original alias issue-7568-repro and all added long aliases resolve127.0.0.1 userubuntu port24570. sshd config now24570; reloaded via captured /tmp/issue-7568-ssh/sshd.pid. HOME remains isolated by original ForceCommand. Environment stays OFF; several routes now exist (final count in inventory). No cleanup of lead-owned processes.

## FRICTION

Agent-browser snapshots/waits intermittently queued for tens of seconds. First Add action needed retry. Saved aliases are filtered from discovery, requiring second scratch alias. Expanded autocomplete hides textbox role locators; Escape before filling fixes it. Retry countdown prevents strict pixel-identical failure frames; caret prevents narrow picker settlement. One interleaved viewport command invalidated390-dark failure frame. Reduced matrix still not fully satisfied within baseline budget. No secret/raw catalog dump used.

Final verification: V2 1440 dark29.033s and390 light25.9s completed. Frames at20s inspected for both;390 light result list inspected. Final390-light result pair diff bbox=None (None means pixel-identical). Five routes, OFF.
