# Release Smoke baseline failure

PR [#22877](https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/pull/22877), head [0966276d71](https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/0966276d71014c725009fe972c979bb75882bf0d), base [e54e71d725](https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/e54e71d725b6eef166ee9b85137c09e051cff342).

`node scripts/release-smoke.ts` failed locally at both revisions with the same error during the fresh-lockfile install step:

```
ERR_PNPM_UNUSED_PATCH
The following patches were not used: @expo/fingerprint@0.21.5, expo-network@58.0.3
Command failed: vp install --lockfile-only --ignore-scripts
scripts/release-smoke.ts:238:20
```

The smoke step copies workspace manifests, pnpm-workspace.yaml, and patches into a temporary directory, removes the lockfile, and resolves dependencies afresh. Those inputs are identical between base and head. The committed lockfile contains the patched versions, but fresh resolution no longer selects them. No source change or commit was made. The detached base worktree was removed.

Environment: Vite+ 1.3.0, pnpm 12.14.0, Node 26.12.1 on Linux. This is a local reproduction, not the unreadable GitHub CI transcript. GitCafe imports the Release Smoke failure but its check has null summary/runId; cafe ci exposes no workflow run or logs for it. Therefore the local error is a plausible CI cause, not a confirmed match to that CI log.

Validation: worktree install passed; head smoke exit 1; base install passed; base smoke exit 1 with same error; smoke inputs compared identical; PR working tree clean. No dependency or release changes were made.
