# PASS2 proof audit

No concrete code findings or material contradictions. Delivered R1 and R2 meet the minimum proof requirements. Independent runtime rebuild of R1 also PASS. This is proof sufficiency, not merge authorization.

Scope: [#22800](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/pull/22800), [mirror #22801](https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/pull/22801). Reviewed local committed source and local evidence; no forge CLI, gh, push, comment, code edits, or unrelated PR work. Started with df /: 6.6GB available, above the 2GB stop threshold; finished with 6.6GB. Worktree remains clean.

| Matrix row | Status | Audited support / limitation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| R1 fresh unbound create | PASS | Actual schedule_task false, null binding and qualified master strategy in create snapshot; actual manual trigger returns distinct child; message/task correlation, preparing/starting/running/completed persisted events, successful preparation trace, real clean child checkout equals default commit. Independently rebuilt below. |
| R2 explicit unbind | PASS | Actual bound create stores original thread and root; corrected actual update uses scheduledTaskId and false; same task becomes null binding with qualified master strategy. Uncached HEAD verified immediately before update/trigger. Distinct fresh child, completed durable run, correlated task message, preparation success and clean actual checkout equal default. The failed taskId schema attempt is disclosed and has no successful mutation. |
| C1 main create/unbind | COVERED by scoped tests | Source exercises main while feature/root has a distinct commit; saves qualified origin/main and creates real worktree at default commit. Prior test outcome accepted, not rerun. |
| C2 bound create/update | COVERED by scoped tests | Both operations keep existing binding and root. Runtime bound-create half also independently visible in R2 artifacts. |
| C3 prompt-only update | COVERED by scoped test | Omitted bind flag preserves explicit release/custom-base and startFromOrigin=false. |
| C4 Scratch create/unbind | COVERED by scoped tests | Both operations save null binding/root and assert zero Git resolver calls. No new Scratch runtime claimed. |
| C5 cached master | COVERED by scoped real-Git tests | Both operations choose qualified master and create default-based worktree. |
| C6 uncached master | PASS runtime + scoped tests | ls-remote discovery covered by R1/R2 and independent R1; no cached origin/HEAD. |
| C7 non-origin upstream | COVERED by scoped real-Git tests | Cached/uncached, create/update, absent local/tracking default; qualified upstream ref parsing, fetch, actual default-based worktree. |
| C8 no remote | COVERED by scoped real-Git tests | Local main fallback and real worktree commit match. |
| C9 offline uncached origin | COVERED by scoped real-Git tests | Save falls back to local main. Test restores connectivity before launch; no offline-launch claim accepted. |
| C10 missing advertised HEAD | COVERED by scoped real-Git tests | Reachable remote without HEAD symref falls back to local main and fetch/create succeeds. |

The supplied prior 68 MCP + 3 Git check reports are retained as prior reports, not independently rerun here. Matrix.md still describes capture as pending and references an earlier 41-test report: that is a historical PASS1 plan, not current runtime status. Index and AFTER artifacts supersede the pending rows; no runtime proof gap results.

Source scope: nine files versus baseline: three production server files, five test files, one fixture script. OrchestratorMcpService now resolves a project default for fresh-thread creation and explicit unbind, bypasses Git for bound/Scratch tasks, and preserves strategy when bind is omitted. GitVcsDriver exposes the resolver; GitVcsDriverCore discovers cached/advertised remote defaults, falls back locally, and parses fully qualified remote refs before refs exist locally. Four auxiliary test changes only supply ManagedProjectFolders mocks; main test change covers strategy resolution with actual Git fetch/worktree operations. No UI, adapter, schema, client, transport, timer-dispatch or rendering changes.

Baseline [e27a03e94d](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/e27a03e94d43b504cfc3933282af913763312afd) hardcodes main at both call sites. The BEFORE transcript/trace shows scheduler succeeded while asynchronous provision-worktree failed ref_not_found, so scheduler status alone is explicitly rejected as proof. BEFORE lacks complete persisted child/run query, as disclosed in the matrix; the explicit failure trace suffices for the agreed baseline requirement.

Runtime AFTER [224ad28ee9](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/224ad28ee98c6a0e483e4fd10e4055b24f92710d), final HEAD [e5bc3901be](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/e5bc3901bedb74ca2f009a4d89d4822778206a67). Independently inspected exact diff: final commit adds ONLY apps/server/scripts/seed-scheduled-task-worktree-fixture.sh. Runtime implementation bytes are unchanged. Existing server PID 115512 is still the lead-owned node src/bin.ts process started 10:33:41 UTC, cwd this worktree/apps/server, consistent with preflight AFTER commit at 10:31:40. It was not restarted at final HEAD; calling it a newly restarted e5bc server would be inaccurate. The older runtime SHA is nonmaterial for server behavior because the only later change is a non-imported fixture script.

Independent rebuild, 2026-10-21 UTC:

- Ran the committed final-HEAD script into /tmp/issue-16183-proof-pass2-independent. It produced empty-tree commit 5cade2a196ef3c8da4151a9e8ced1c1b5a04c336, with master local/tracking refs and no cached origin/HEAD. Independently compared commit object bytes to existing fixture: identical tree, identity, timestamp, message. Reused the authorized existing project/thread at /tmp/issue-16183-fixture/project; master remains advertised at that commit, main and cached origin/HEAD absent. Extra prior child branches/checkpoint refs remain, with no effect on default selection.
- Used test-t3-app and a new incognito thread-scoped preview tab, routine explicit-home pairing, then the existing fixture agent. Did not use parent app scheduling tools. No auth/credential/permission/mode/config changes. Full reload was needed for the pairing fragment; no tokens or pairing URL appear in audit artifacts.
- Actual schedule_task input: title issue-16183-pass2-independent-R1, no-edit Reply OK prompt, structured interval everyMs=3600000, bindToCurrentThread=false. Returned task scheduled-task:4410bc2c-3dd3-4a32-885b-81f4c7ce5023; independent read-only SQLite before trigger confirms null thread, worktree/baseRef refs/remotes/origin/master/startFromOrigin true, run_count=0.
- Actual run_scheduled_task_now input taskId of that task. Returned child thread:project:9b67ce6b-1ea0-42fb-83df-cfe8b4a547f7:a9f304b0-7109-466e-a0fe-6a4792d90258, runCount=1. Durable run ID run:thread:thread%3Aproject%3A9b67ce6b-1ea0-42fb-83df-cfe8b4a547f7%3Aa9f304b0-7109-466e-a0fe-6a4792d90258:ordinal:1, requested 11:24:08.539Z, completed 11:24:11.912Z.
- Persisted userMessageId scheduled-task-message:scheduled-task:4410bc2c-3dd3-4a32-885b-81f4c7ce5023:1792581848516:manual correlates the run. Persisted states preparing -> starting -> running -> waiting -> completed prove preparation released the run, independently of scheduler succeeded. No preparation error.
- Durable child path /home/ubuntu/wt/issue-16183/.t3/worktrees/project/t3-bcb07f20, branch t3/reply-ok-1. Real git symbolic-ref HEAD, rev-parse HEAD, worktree list and clean status captured. HEAD equals 5cade2a196ef3c8da4151a9e8ced1c1b5a04c336 and fixture refs/remotes/origin/master. Same semantic outcome as delivered R1; differences are IDs, timestamps and collision-suffixed branch/path only.
- Actual delete_scheduled_task then actual list_scheduled_tasks completed. Independent read-only SQLite verifies zero scheduled tasks after cleanup. Child worktree is retained for lead cleanup/inspection; new standalone fixture root is also retained at /tmp/issue-16183-proof-pass2-independent. No own server/background processes started, none killed.

Retained audit evidence in this directory: pass2-before-trigger.json, pass2-completed.json, pass2-cleanup.json, pass2-actual-mcp.json. They contain actual tool inputs/outputs, task projections, child/run/events and Git checks. Delivered after-trigger.json, after-create-before-unbind.json, after-unbind-before-trigger.json and after-cleanup.json were independently cross-checked against code and their trace/transcript. Independent assertions also checked both delivered child paths still have matching clean actual checkouts.

Unverified surfaces: no desktop/mobile/remote/tunnel/provider matrix rerun; no pixels under explicit server-only exception. No new scoped test execution claimed. Unknown-default/non-Git named-project errors and isolated local-master/HEAD-only fallbacks remain residual branches from PASS1, not claims of tested coverage. No additional minimum affected row is missing. Prior review-round-4 clean findings were context, not substituted for this audit.

Friction: standard browser pairing required a full reload; initial PR-link URL parser rejected singular /pull and the structured host/repository/number registration succeeded. No permission escalation, alternate auth route, MCP parameter definition changes, or new server was needed. This thread is linked to the scoped PR. No unrelated PR linked.

VERDICT: SUFFICIENT
