# Issue 17418 evidence capture — incomplete

Issue: [#17418](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/17418). No PR, push, or delegation performed. Capture stopped at the user's 30-minute cutoff. This is not an acceptance sign-off.

Reusable fixture commit: [4bfaa82d99](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/4bfaa82d99). `node scripts/seed-claude-handoffs-fixture.ts` reproduces `.t3/repro-mod` and prints launch/selection steps. Focused lint and formatting passed. No implementation tests were run by this capture agent.

## Exact source provenance

- Retained baseline from the previous capture agent: runtime ClaudeProvider.ts from [e54e71d725](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/e54e71d725), while HEAD remained the older implementation. Its activity records the source swap, missing menu, full-command execution, and exact restoration. This agent never swapped runtime sources.
- Successful interaction recording: implementation [03bd4fbf94](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/03bd4fbf94) plus the fixture-only commit [4bfaa82d99](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/4bfaa82d99). A subsequent correction writer was active during this interval, so this is interim behavior evidence, not an immutable final-head result.
- Four later stills were captured after [7bc11a5927](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/7bc11a5927), before the main merge at 20:17:04 UTC. Desktop menu stills show the command; narrow stills are unusable because the surface panel obscures the composer. Stills alone do not prove fresh discovery or execution.
- At handback HEAD is [a21e53d575](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/a21e53d575), a concurrent main merge. It was NOT captured or verified. Working tree was clean at handback. Do not relabel earlier evidence as this final SHA.

## Environment and steps

Linux 6.1.102 x86_64, Node 26.12.1, Claude Code 2.1.303, Claude agent SDK 0.3.276. Existing lead web port 7753/backend 15793; isolated worktree `.t3`, environment `12e2ecc8-dc5b-4eee-b3ce-2a4cb419c24b` (fs-09), Claude Opus 5.5 selected, thread `1a62e5b1-e5f4-45f5-89c5-99639cd05225`, project cwd `/home/ubuntu/wt/issue-17418`. Lead server launched with CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS pointing at `.t3/repro-mod`. Actual successful command execution establishes attachment for the app flow, not for the separate failed probe fixture.

Measured CSS viewports: 1440×900 and 390×844, DPR 2, visualViewport.scale 1, root font 16px. Light/dark were applied with the preview appearance tool. Desktop saved stills are normalized to 1280×800; narrow stills are 780×1688. Recordings preserve 2880×1800 before publication crops. Browser is desktop Chromium responsive emulation, not native mobile or Electron.

Baseline recording (2026-10-22 19:32:12.483–19:32:17.689 UTC): starts with `/hand` lacking handoffs; types full `/handoffs`, separately sends, and receives the second fixture marker. It is 5.59 seconds. Earlier marker already existed; completion was checked by the new response, not just presence of old text.

Interim after recording (19:54–19:55:21.710 UTC; log retained only locally): `/hand` offers one handoffs row and fixture description; Enter inserts `/handoffs ` while marker count stays 3; separate send increases count to 4. Later in the same recording, nonmatch `/zzzz17418` yields no options; `text /hand` excludes the provider command (an unrelated matching skill remains); `/compact` remains available; `/hand` returns. Dismiss/reopen is included. Pointer insertion in the later dark attempt produced `/handoffs `, but send was blocked by reconnect and is not a successful-flow proof.

Publication videos crop 520 physical pixels from the left to remove unrelated seed-sidebar titles. Stills/pair crop 230 normalized pixels from the left. No command rows were fabricated. The pair is diagnostic: sidebar state, right surface panel state, cumulative synthetic chat history/checkpoint summaries, scroll position, and elapsed timestamps changed. These unrelated changes dominate parts of the diff; this is not a clean pixel-regression comparison.

Diff 1: absolute RGB channel difference, threshold 0 (retain all nonzero differences), brightness amplified 4× and clipped at 255. Diff 2: each absolute RGB channel >24 becomes 255, otherwise 0. No exclusion masks. Only the available 1440-light pair exists; other base/theme pairs are UNVERIFIED, not synthesized.

## Runtime transcript interpretation

Separate service probe ran at 20:15:43–20:15:46 UTC against the 7bc11a5927 checkout. All health/read-only/operator cases reported hookRuns=0 and handoffs=0, including 1.2s and 30s delay fixtures; those calls returned in 0.5–1.8s. Therefore the positive control failed to attach the mod. It establishes neither timeout fallback nor delayed initialization nor authorization. The raw output is attached for audit, explicitly not PASS. It completed; no owned probe PID/session remains running. Initial module-resolution failure was fixed with a temporary dependency symlink, which is removed during cleanup.

## FRICTION / cleanup

- Two correction holds and server restarts consumed capture time. Never stopped or restarted the lead server.
- Sidebar toggle and surface-panel state did not stay as expected after navigation/restarts; visual inspection rejected narrow captures. Earlier semantic menu reads did not guarantee it was visually unobscured.
- App repeatedly showed “fs-09 is reconnecting / T3 Code on fs-09 did not answer”; raw click error: “Preview automation click timed out after 15000ms.” A direct WebSocket closed code 1006. Pairing recovery briefly restored access; a later attempt was again disconnected. Pairing URL/token are excluded from evidence.
- Final-head interaction attempt was stopped at cutoff; do not use its short recording as successful proof.
- No owned servers/simulators were started. Runtime probe completed. Preview recording stopped. Own `/tmp/i17418-r2`, temporary `.t3/evidence-runtime-r2.ts`, `.t3/evidence-fixtures-r2`, and `.t3/node_modules` dependency symlink are removed after upload. Existing lead `/tmp/i17418*` and `/tmp/p17418` are untouched.
- Original Browser artifacts/attachments remain for lead cleanup; exact paths follow below. Additional early attempt artifacts are enumerated in the cleanup upload.
