## Evidence

**Scope beyond the PR title:** L09 also corrects the display used after quitting a fullscreen session entered from an app-restored maximized window. Fullscreen itself is not restored. This behavior extends beyond the title “a maximized window reopens on the display it was last used on.” The minimized-quit rows also exercise preserving the maximized flag, not only display coordinates. **Exit limitation:** L10 remains unchanged: unmaximizing returns to display 1 on both revisions, so the matrix’s display-2 normal-mode expectation is not met. **L03s limitation:** Linux replaces straddling normal bounds on WM maximize, so the new maximized-straddling condition remains unverified here.

Captured **10/12 matrix rows**, including all eight affected Linux rows and both Linux controls. P01 (macOS) and P02 (Windows) remain unverified; reasons below. Before [689763a603][before-commit]; after [6fd7ae506e][after-commit]. All after runs are fresh at the requested head. No application source was changed; persisted settings were never seeded or patched by the driver.

**Rendering environment for every still and recording:** fs-29, Linux x86_64, real built Electron 44.9.3 desktop, Xorg dummy driver on `:47`, openbox; DPR 1; no font scaling. ImageMagick `import -window root` captures the full **3840×1080** root. ffmpeg x11grab records the same full root at 15 fps (H.264, CRF 20, cursor excluded). Display 1 is 1920×1080 at (0,0), primary; display 2 is 1920×1080 at (1920,0), except L04 where display 2 is 1280×720 at (1920,0), with the root kept 3840×1080. Black space is the unused root/display area. Each run has a fresh synthetic T3 home/database and a separate D-Bus session and unlocked keyring. No real server data is seeded.

**Still settling and diffs:** after the final relaunch, two full-root screenshots 500 ms apart must be pixel-identical. The uploaded still is that identical second frame. Every accepted run passed on its first pair. Diff0 = absolute RGB difference ×255, saturated, threshold **0/255**, so a one-level change is visible. DiffT8 = magenta where the maximum RGB channel difference is **>8/255**, black elsewhere. Diff comparisons use original full-resolution stills, before sheet resizing. All final stills, diffs and recording sheets were opened for visual review. Video zero follows the driver’s recording-start event by about 0.13 s; each run’s recording-timing.json preserves the offset estimated from ffmpeg’s input timestamp and the final event file mtime (millisecond event precision; 15 fps sampling). Action tables show video seek times and driver times; settings tables use driver times. Recording sheets are derived video frames, and accompany rather than replace the recordings.

**What else changed (all visible differences in the final still pairs):**

- **L01:** No visible difference; the full root is identical at zero threshold (0 changed pixels).
- **L02:** No visible difference; the full root is identical at zero threshold (0 changed pixels).
- **L03:** The maximized window moves from display 1 to display 2; the black unused display swaps sides. Content is identical at zero threshold after translating 1920 px.
- **L03s:** No visible difference in the final still pair; the full root is identical at zero threshold (0 changed pixels). The scripted normal window visibly straddles at (1800,150) on both sides before WM maximize.
- **L04:** No visible difference; the full-root final stills are identical at zero threshold (0 changed pixels). Both show the same maximized 1280×720 window on display 2 with black unused root space.
- **L09:** The final maximized window and black background exchange display sides. The window content is pixel-identical at zero threshold after a 1920 px translation. This also changes restart placement for the fullscreen path, beyond the title’s maximized-window wording.
- **L12:** Both windows are on display 2. After is maximized and 1 px wider/taller: its bottom/right black 1 px margins disappear; the titlebar maximize glyph changes to restore; caption buttons shift right; bottom sidebar icons shift down; centered prompt/button raster positions shift slightly with the size. No other differences were observed; 10,283 full-root pixels differ at zero threshold.
- **L12b:** Both windows are on display 2. After is maximized and 1 px wider/taller: its bottom/right black 1 px margins disappear; the titlebar maximize glyph changes to restore; caption buttons shift right; bottom sidebar icons shift down; centered prompt/button raster positions shift slightly with the size. No other differences were observed; 10,283 full-root pixels differ at zero threshold.
- **L13:** No visible difference; the full-root final stills are identical at zero threshold (0 changed pixels).
- **L10:** No visible difference; the full-root final stills are identical at zero threshold. Both show the same normal 1919×1079 window on display 1, with a 1 px black right/bottom edge.

Run one session at a time: `bash run.sh <checkout> <row> <before|after>`. L12b uses `bash run-l12b.sh <checkout> L12b <before|after>`. L03s uses `bash run-l03s.sh <checkout> L03s <before|after>`. Build each checkout at its linked SHA with `vp install`, `node apps/desktop/node_modules/electron/install.js`, then `vp run build:desktop`. The wrappers currently name the original scratch directory; update that literal `BASE` path if rebuilding elsewhere. `capture.py` is frozen for the original eight Linux rows; `capture-l12b.py` only adds the 250 ms minimized-maximized branch and is identical between the L12b before/after sessions. `capture-l03s.py` adds only the straddling-normal-bounds scenario and is identical on both sides. The archive includes every per-step desktop-settings snapshot, timing/geometry/WM-state event log, display layout, identical settle frames, and the scripts. There is no seed script: each side’s server creates its own fresh database.

One batch was interrupted during L01 after; its incomplete run is excluded. L01 after was rerun from a fresh home. All old-head after evidence was superseded and rerun at [6fd7ae506e](https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/commit/6fd7ae506e). Every subsequent session was launched individually; the same capture driver and scheduled timings were preserved.

Pass: both sides reopen normal at (2300,150), 1100×780, on display 2.

After process cleanup: the Electron PID was still alive two seconds after the close request; the shared driver sent SIGTERM at driver 22.016 s. The close request and subsequent relaunch retained their scheduled times.

Linux-specific result: before saves (1800,150), 1100×780 while normal, then WM maximize replaces that with display-2 maximized bounds (1920,0), 1920×1080. It already reopens maximized on display 2 after the off-and-back transfer. The scripted straddling-normal fixture is captured, but Linux does not retain straddling getNormalBounds while maximized, so this cannot visually verify the new early-return branch’s native-platform case. After also reopens maximized on display 2, meeting its requested outcome. During the off-and-back sequence, after follows the temporary display-1 transfer in its saved bounds; before leaves the saved display-2 bounds unchanged. The final stills are identical.

**L03s condition limitation:** the normal window visibly straddles before maximize, but Linux/Openbox replaces the saved normal bounds when WM-maximized. The maximized-straddling normal-bounds condition itself remains **unverified on this platform**, despite complete captures of the requested scripted row.

### Cleanup

Every tracked Electron, openbox, keyring and recorder process has stopped. Display 2 is restored to 1920×1080 at (1920,0). The shared original Xorg exited independently; its replacement uses the identical configuration and remains available on :47. The before worktree has been removed; the lead’s after worktree remains clean at the requested head. See cleanup.json for the exact process and layout record.
