# Remote editor username verification

## Focused behavior proof

The original merged PR passed 45 nonbrowser tests. After consolidating redundant tests, the 40-case suite exposed two failures for empty and whitespace-only persisted usernames. The implementation fixes those failures: 40/40 pass. The existing 7 picker browser tests also pass, for 47 passing cases total.

Fail-before check: temporarily restoring the base editor URL builder and Electron URL allowlist and removing the OS lookup fallback produced 8 failures (6 additional to the two blank-login failures). Restoring the implementation returned to the two expected failures; the final implementation passes all 40 cases.

Five scoped typechecks (contracts, shared, web, server, desktop), targeted lint, formatting, and git diff --check passed.

## Chromium hook verification

The real useRemoteOpenResolution React hook and production URL builder were exercised in the T3 Browser panel against the running isolated development app, using synthetic connection presentations in a separate AtomRegistry. Changing only the login on the same host updated all three editor URL formats; removing it restored the bare alias, and adding it again restored the login.

This proves hook invalidation and generated destinations, not an OS editor launch or SSH authentication. No visual layout changes are made, so text output is the relevant evidence.
