Final proof audit pass 2 — evidence-only
Model/harness: gpt-6.1-sol / Codex.

Scope: audited summary.md, audit-1.txt, review-A.txt, review-B.txt, driver.ts, capture.sh, control.sh, behavior.sh, summarize.py, raw benchmark/control/behavior JSON, test logs, commands.log, machine/restoration/hash records, fixture record, and conflict/main-collector captures. Read the two added tests and checked local commit/core identity in /home/ubuntu/wt/pr-19799. No tests, benchmarks, installs, forge/network operations, databases, or source changes performed. Only this report written.

Assessment: sufficient evidence for the bounded pinned-head performance and preservation claims. This verdict concerns proof completeness, not a fully passing suite, strict callback latency non-regression, or landing readiness. Source reviews A and B both say MERGE with no concrete findings; their judgments do not substitute for the captured experiments.

R1 — SATISFIED. Actual checkout is d2c97fc5a884c85144ddc884bbe3efb7c9343b5d. Independently read the pinned Git objects: merge-base core SHA256 e49b98a38dc943848c4eb3d05865a773f325341755dd0dd49984a24d2b8862e6 and head core SHA256 085a69afb4b7d35edc00da6784ea1b1361a1af8c8b793bdc0d7db5f20cc2ce38 agree with per-variant capture hashes. Current core matches head and tracked diff is empty. Scripts substitute only the core, preserve head tests/dependencies, use fresh Node processes, and trap restoration. Initial/final status and restoration records support the reported clean restoration. Baseline is correctly labeled merge-base core under head dependencies, not a full baseline checkout.

R2 — SATISFIED AS CAPTURE, WITH FAILED RESULT DISCLOSED. Full focused head output reports 166 passed, 1 failed, 167 total; commands.log records exit 1. The existing rename/unusual-path/modes/binary-statistics test fails reading previousPath at line 2121. The same named failure and location are reproduced with baseline core; this establishes that the failure is not unique to head in this setup, without establishing its root cause. Both named added tests pass at head and baseline (baseline 2 passed/165 skipped); restored head targeted repeat also passes both while reproducing the existing failure. Source assertions check precise returned strings, flags, callback lines, and error outputLength=4. These are preservation tests. There is no red-before/green-after demonstration and no fully green focused suite. Neither result is fabricated or waived. Audit 1 explicitly allowed green-on-both preservation evidence; the current request likewise describes before/after captures rather than requiring invented failures.

R3 — SATISFIED. Public makeGitVcsDriverCore().execute uses a replayable fake spawner, ASCII path/to/file plus NUL, no CR/LF, exact 1/4 MiB payloads and 64 KiB chunks prebuilt outside timing. Each call checks complete exact stdout, empty stderr, zero exit, and false truncation flags. Explicit cap is workload size+1 (the 4 MiB case exceeds 4 MiB; the smaller case needs only its own adequate cap). This meets the intent of Audit 1's adequate-cap requirement. All raw variants have matching byte counts/hashes. No private or copied collector is benchmarked.

R4 — SATISFIED. Script creates and indexes 20,000 empty files with specified fixed-width names, then calls public execute with ls-files -z and an 8 MiB cap. Exact expected listing equality, zero exit, empty stderr, false truncation flags, 3,920,000 bytes, and one EOF callback in callback cells are checked on every invocation. Fixture digest matches all real-git result cells. Setup is outside timing and the same fixture/config is used across variants. Callback only increments a count; it does not retain/log payloads. Callback control results are reported as measurements, not an optimized-path claim.

R5 — SATISFIED, WITH LATENCY LIMITATION. Each benchmark cell has two warmups and five retained samples; raw JSON agrees with reported medians. Timer encloses yielded public execute completion and excludes payload/fixture preparation, imports, assertions, hashes and printing. Layers/driver lifecycle and Node 24.22.1 are equivalent. Fresh processes avoid stale source modules. First series order is head/base/head/base; isolated callback control is head/base/base/head with ten pooled measured samples per variant. Initial no-callback medians base -> head are 11.511 -> 3.179 ms (1 MiB), 168.098 -> 4.478 ms (4 MiB), and 203.200 -> 30.091 ms (real listing); repeats support the direction. Callback medians are slower at head: +5.3% and +27.8% in the multiworkload series; isolated pooled medians 241.193 -> 245.964 ms (+1.98%). Overlap/noise does not prove absence of a regression. Summary states that limitation plainly. Audit 1 required candid reporting, not a zero-slowdown result. Local VM medians support no universal performance or memory conclusion.

R6 — SATISFIED. Independently compared the 14 equality records from behavior-base/head JSON: all match. Harness assertions and captured values cover split UTF-8/NUL, both/no callbacks, independently selected stdout-only/stderr-only callbacks with both stream outputs checked, partial multibyte cap=3 producing é plus replacement character, exact cap=5, under-cap=6, flags, and continued full callbacks through later chunks and EOF after truncation. Captured rejection outputLength is 4; summarize.py validates it, and the added test asserts it directly. Valid returned text is checked exactly; partial UTF-8 truncation is correctly distinguished from equality to invalid raw bytes. These are bounded behavior cases, not exhaustive input-space proof.

R7 — SATISFIED. machine.txt records OS/architecture, CPU/vCPUs, RAM, load, Node/Bun/Git/vp/Vitest versions and lockfile identity. Commands/harness define relevant runtime and timing settings. Shared VM scheduling is uncontrolled and disclosed; load snapshots cannot prove exclusive CPU access. Real-git includes spawn/stream overhead; fake timings exercise a controlled producer through the public API. No memory/allocation claim is made. Bun node:sea failures and the common Node fallback are retained. Conflict captures show only a test-file insertion conflict between the new describe block and main's makeFailedHandle helper; core auto-merges. Captured main collector still appends/scans lineBuffer unconditionally, so it retains this optimization opportunity. Conflict remains unresolved and blocks landing readiness; no claim is made about newer main beyond the captured main identity.

Concrete unverified outcomes: strict callback no-regression; a fully green focused suite; red-before/green-after behavior of the added preservation tests; root cause of the shared existing test failure; conflict resolution and landing readiness. These limitations constrain the conclusion and are not missing capture rows under this evidence-only request. No production/test changes or remediation demanded.

VERDICT: SUFFICIENT
